It was a pleasure to be the Ashes Barns wedding photographer for Laura and Hayden’s joy filled day. We adored this venue, and it was the sunniest day of the year so far so we were delighted to make the most of the beautiful light!
The Ashes Barns Wedding Venue
From driving up the private road to the estate you immediately understand why this is a venue high on couples and photographers wish lists! Set on a private estate, the venue boasts a manor house (where guests can stay), stunning gardens with long views into the Staffordshire countryside, a beautiful pond, ceremony barn, secluded courtyard and a large rustic barn for the wedding breakfast and dancing! There are no shortage of locations for stunning wedding photographs! Oh, and they have highland cattle nosing in on proceedings as you’ll see below! The events manager, Francesca, and her team ensured the event ran seamlessly and were a pleasure to work with.
We first met Laura and Hayden at the nearby Roaches for a winter engagement shoot in similarly stunning weather (albeit much, much colder!) and from there looked forward to their big day. Arriving at the Ashes Barns, it was clear this was going to be a great day as the bridal party got ready in the fantastic facilities. Meanwhile, Hayden and his groomsmen put the final touches to the tables for the wedding breakfast. The courtyard provided a sunlit space for pre and post ceremony mingling and celebratory drinks. The wedding breakfast was beautifully laid out and with fun and emotion filled speeches ensuring everyone had a great afternoon. The food was fabulous too! The party was still going strong with some lively dancing when we left the venue and we were really glad to have played our role in documenting such a wonderful day.
