How would I describe our style?
Put simply, it’s relaxed yet professional, candid yet stylish and colourful but timeless. We bring our experience covering in excess of 150 weddings to bring you a wedding gallery that is a lovely combination of all of these things!
Relaxed
We want our couples to be as relaxed as possible on a wedding day to create the most natural photographs – when people are truly relaxed it shows so what we are trying to capture is people enjoying each other’s company. We don’t ask you to do things you don’t want to do and we try to limit the amount of posing required (usually just a bit of hand placement advice and a reminder when to smile every now and again!). We prefer to think of it as a bit of direction rather than posing. If you and your guests are relaxed then the candid part is much easier! We won’t be jumping out of a helicopter to photograph you and I won’t be asking you to either (even if you want to!). Obviously, if you are really comfortable in front of a camera that’s great too, we work with what’s most important to you both on your big day.
Candid
Although we are happy to capture those key group photos, the ones that a photographer and our couples want are candid. That means we like to step back, observe and document what’s going on so that your photographs reflect your memory of the day. We want you to spend as much of the day as possible with your friends and family. Shooting candidly means we get those interactions that only happen when people are not posing and also means we can get photographs of the camera shy guests who start grimacing when a camera gets within a 5 metre radius!
Colourful
We like to shoot in natural light where possible (who doesn’t!) and edit our images to have a natural but professional feel that will hold the test of time. We do love a good golden hour photograph and sunlight but it’s the UK so we know it won’t always be like that and in all honesty, some of the best colour is to be found on an overcast day. We’ll use flash and lighting where we have to but mostly we’ll try to reflect the experience as you remember it.
Love
One thing that makes our job easier is that we absolutely LOVE weddings! The details, the dress, the flowers, the venue, the table settings, the shoes, dressed up babies – bring it on! I (Natalie) really enjoy the emotion of the day and am often found dabbing a tear from my eye during the speeches or welling up as you say your vows!
