Nestled discretely in the countryside outside Knutsford, Cheshire, The Love Shack is an intimate wedding venue that will take your breath away. From the moment the gates open you realise you are entering somewhere special.
As a wedding photographer, I love all weddings, but there’s something special about elopements. There’s so much variety to elopements tailored to each couple – somewhere familiar, somewhere new, somewhere personal. You don’t need to travel to Gretna Green or stand on a windswept ridge. What’s great about The Love Shack is the sheer variety of spaces to enjoy in one place. As a wedding photographer, there’s no shortage of inspiration at The Love Shack.
If you are going to elope, then it shouldn’t be mundane – there is nothing run of the mill here. Magical woodland, a lake, orchard, wedding shack, luxury accommodation – check! However, that list doesn’t do this venue justice. The beauty is in the little details wherever you go. The stunning flowers and planting in the woods are enhanced by twinkling lights and your own playlist make for a sensory experience whatever time of day or season. There’s Indian gates leading onto the orchard, there are swings with views, there’s even a boat for the lake (called the Love Boat – of course!). You can cuddle up under blankets by fire pits in the woods or even swim in the lake. However, it’s still England so no promises on the water temperature! I could go on but what’s clear is there’s something for everyone.
Your wedding at The Love Shack
The ceremonies usually take place in The Love Shack set at the end of a winding path in the midst of Moss Wood. The ‘shack’ itself is a stylish cabin raised above the wood floor where you can say your I do’s at the top of the steps.
You don’t just get to enjoy the venue for the day, there are two boutique lodges overlooking the lake available for couples and their (up to eight) guests. Being able to stay in such a unique environment really extends the celebrations more than traditional venues.
The Stables is the main accommodation with everything you need for a magical stay. It is also a great space for bride/groom preparations before the ceremony. The Summerhouse is set between the vegetable garden and the lake and is ideal for adult guests and children and can also provide another ceremony preparation space. The Shimmy Shack on the edge of the woods is an ideal stylish function space. Overlooking lawn and fields, it is the perfect setting for a celebration meal after your ceremony. All the spaces have been styled to ensure your day is memorable.
